Specifications and
Order Lists

Specifications and order lists ensure the interface between design decisions, procurement, production, the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RMRS), suppliers, and the client. They enable control over the scope of supply, technical parameters of purchased equipment, documentation requirements, completeness, and compliance with the approved design.

We develop lists of materials, equipment, machinery, fittings, piping, cable products, electrical equipment, automation systems, marine devices, outfitting items, insulation, coatings, fasteners, and other components. These lists may be structured by design discipline, ship system, onboard area, production stage, or specific client requirements.

Specifications include item designation, functional purpose, key technical parameters, quantity, material, applicable standards or technical conditions, execution type, certification requirements, class notation, operating conditions, scope of supply, and additional constraints. For equipment, parameters such as capacity, pressure, temperature, power, voltage, protection class, weight, dimensions, spare parts requirements, documentation scope, and acceptance conditions may be defined.

Order lists are used for issuing RFQs (Requests for Quotation), supplier comparison, budget estimation, procurement planning, and verification of compliance between purchased items and the approved design. Where required, these lists include documentation requirements from suppliers such as certificates, RMRS approvals, drawings, diagrams, manuals, test reports, declarations, spare part kits, and operational documentation.

Special attention is given to equipment that affects interfacing systems. Replacement of pumps, generators, heat exchangers, steering gear, automation components, or other critical equipment may impact structural loads, piping layouts, power supply, ventilation, control systems, vessel weight, and center of gravity. Therefore, specifications must be kept up to date and fully aligned with both design and production documentation.

For imported equipment, accurate matching of technical parameters is essential, including standards, operating conditions, and documentation requirements. This is particularly important for equipment subject to review, certification, or approval under RMRS rules.

The result of this stage is a structured set of specifications and order lists, enabling the client and shipyard to control procurement, budget, delivery timelines, and technical compliance with the project.
